Skyride Manchester

Found out about this last year but couldnt make it. This year I planned to take the girls along.

Day dawned very wet... torrential downpour in Bolton, but we loaded the van up and popped round to Weesters to collect Sarah;s bike which Jaz would be riding. Weester was coming with James too. I said that we would drive there and see how the weather looked.

Pulled up on the car park and fortunately it relented so we geared up and headed over to the start at Eastlands.

After a bit of faffing and getting our free vests on we set off, mostly all downhill into the city centre. I have to say it was rammed. Loads of cyclists out, and being the over protective Dad I am I was panicking about Jaz and Kelsey colliding with everyone. They were fine though.

Once we got into the City proper it was ace... spinning along the normally rammed city streets with just other bikers and no cars it was great.

We arrived in Castlefield and listened to a bit of Caribbean Shakespeare, recited to a slow drum beat (?!) and then watched the BMX kids jumping around.

Bit of a rest and refreshments and we headed back through the city to Sportscity. Just got caught in a shower for the last 5 minutes but otherwise we missed most of the rain.

Cracking day out and good to get the girls out on a bike!
